Dr. Astrid Gutsmann is a distinguished medical professional with a diverse background in both scientific research and clinical practice. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science (B.S.), a Masters of Science (M.S.) degrees in Biology, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology of Aging. Her groundbreaking research in this field, where she significantly extended the life expectancy of lab animals using simple methods, has been widely recognized. Dr. Gutsmann’s passion for improving human health led her to pursue a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree, and she subsequently transitioned to become a family practice physician.
Prior to establishing her own clinic, Dr. Gutsmann honed her skills by working alongside top physicians at Parkland Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the country. Her expertise and dedication have earned her the nickname “Hormone Harmony Healer” among her patients, owing to her innovative bio-identical hormone replacement model used in the clinic.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Gutsmann has contributed significantly to the field of family medicine. Physicians like Dr. Gutsmann play a crucial role in hospitals, where they diagnose and treat various medical conditions, provide preventive care, manage chronic illnesses, and offer personalized care to patients of all ages. Their expertise extends to coordinating with other healthcare professionals, conducting medical research, and educating patients about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Gutsmann’s extensive experience, combined with her pioneering research and commitment to patient care, underscores her exceptional contributions to the medical field. Her profile exemplifies a remarkable blend of scientific acumen and compassionate healthcare delivery, making her a highly respected figure in the realm of family medicine.
Mary Jacob is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of medical experience. She holds national certifications in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and FMCSA medical examiners. Her diverse experience includes working in primary care, medical/cardiac ICU, gynecology, oncology, bariatric surgery, and emergency medicine, allowing her to work with a variety of age groups. Mary completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University and her Master of Science degree in FNP at Walden University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Arkansas State University.
Mary is dedicated to the entire continuum of care at Dr. Careing, where she assesses, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of conditions. Her expertise and dedication have greatly enhanced the operational efficiency of the clinic since joining the team in 2021. She is also an active member of professional organizations including the American College of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing.
In addition to her professional work, Mary enjoys spending time with her family and traveling around the world. She is passionate about promoting preventive care and raising awareness of health and wellness, and finds her work as a nurse practitioner very rewarding.
